Happy Motoring with the Dalai Lama
Live in a Better Way: Reflections on Truth, Love and Happiness (Audio Cassette)
I bought a used audio cassette edition of this book and play it when I run errands in my 2001 Toyota Corolla with its original equipment tape player. Regardless of the driving conditions, the friendly Buddhist teachings of the Dalai Lama help to keep me calm and happy. His lessons are simple and straightforward and are open to include not only Buddhists but anyone interested in bringing a little more peace into their life. His discussion of his own analytical meditation practice is not particularly esoteric or mystical. The Dalia Lama offers down-to-earth advice for gaining insight into our lives as well as dealing with thoughts and experiences as we go about everyday work and play. Those wanting to move deeper into Buddhist meditation traditions may progress to other books and other teachers. But for some listeners the brief lessons offered in this audio book are a good way to start and may be sufficient to the day. As I drive around town, I never tire of listening to the Dalai Lama's teachings. This is classic Tibetan Buddhist wisdom offered in a gentle way.
